About QR Codes
QR (Quick Response) codes are two-dimensional barcodes that store information which can be read by smartphones and dedicated QR scanners. They are an incredibly efficient way to bridge offline media (like printed flyers or business cards) with online resources (websites or digital contact cards).
Types of QR Codes Generated
Our QR Code Generator supports multiple data formats to suit your specific needs:
- URL QR Codes: These are the most common. Scanning them instantly redirects the user to a website. Perfect for menus, advertisements, and business profiles.
- WiFi QR Codes: Allow guests to connect to your network without typing a password. The SSID and password are encoded directly into the image.
- VCard QR Codes: Digitize your business card. When scanned, these codes populate the recipient's phone with your Name, Phone, and Email details instantly.
- Plain Text: Useful for sharing short messages, serial numbers, or Wi-Fi keys that are not formatted for the automatic login protocol.
Best Practices for Custom QR Codes
To ensure your QR code works every time, consider these design tips:
- Contrast is Key: Always use a dark foreground (like Black or Brand Teal) and a light background (White or Light Gray). Low contrast prevents scanners from reading the code.
- Test Before Printing: Always scan your code with at least two different devices (iPhone and Android) before you print thousands of copies.
- Size Matters: For print media, ensure the QR code is at least 2cm x 2cm. If printing too small, the camera may not focus on the individual modules.
- Error Correction: Our generator uses High error correction (Level H), meaning even if part of the code is covered or damaged, it will likely still be scannable.
